In May, the Study in Czechia initiative organized a mission for Czech higher education institutions to the USA, using this opportunity to hold Czech receptions and meet alumni in New York, New Orleans, and Houston.

These events marked the second time we connected with alumni in the USA, recalling last year's meetup and our interview with General Dagvin Anderson. The mission aimed to enhance Czech-American cooperation in higher education and gain insights from alumni.

The Czech receptions had two main goals: connecting university representatives, professionals, and researchers from both countries to foster new partnerships and meeting Czech and international alumni who studied in Czechia and Czech compatriots in the USA. These diverse gatherings created excellent opportunities for fruitful networking and building meaningful collaborations.

The first reception was held at the Bohemian National Hall in New York, and the second at the Czech Center Museum Houston, each attracting over 90 participants. Representatives from Czech universities were excited to meet alumni, renew old connections and develop new ones.

The second part of the mission took place in New Orleans during the NAFSA conference starting on May 28th. The reception, organized with the Honorary Consulate in New Orleans and Honorary Consul Martin P. Pospíšil, featured live music and a welcoming venue. This event saw 120 attendees, including several Czechs working at universities in Louisiana. It was introduced by the director of the Czech National Agency for International Education and Research, Michal Uhl, and the current ambassador of the Czech Republic to the United States, Miloslav Stašek.
